About Us

Kata Consulting was founded by Wayne Simmons. Wayne started working with offshore software development teams in 1993 with the Chicago Stock Exchange. He was part of a Bangkok-based team responsible for creating electronic trading systems for:

• The Stock Exchange of Thailand (Bangkok, Thailand)
• The Makati Stock Exchange (Manila, Philippines)
• Bolsa de Valores de Quito (Quito, Ecuador)
• The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (Johannesburg, South Africa)

In 1999 Wayne joined Reuters and was responsible for managing the transition of onshore software development teams to a newly created development center in Bangkok, Thailand. During this time the development center in Bangkok grew from 50 people to over 1,000 and was responsible for development of mission-critical market data and electronic trading systems sold to Reuters customers.

The success of the development center in Bangkok lead Reuters to expand by opening development centers in China and India.

Since founding Kata Consulting in 2008, Wayne has worked with both buyers and providers of outsourcing services to plan, implement, and improve offshore software development relationships.
